D and I take turns getting up with the Moo in the night (yes...she still wakes up at least once a night). Sometimes it's just a quick trip before she goes back to sleep and sometimes it's a long drawn out affair lasting until dawn. Lately there have been a lot of long drawn out affairs.
Last night was D's turn.
As I lay in bed trying to ignore the Moo's plaintive cries, I noticed that the light in her room had been turned on. This is never a good sign as it indicates that the all important binkie has gone missing.
After a few moments it became clear that the binkie was not to be found and so I got up to help D out.
Sure enough...as I entered the bedroom I saw D sprawled on the floor--eyes at half mast--hands fumbling around under the crib looking for the lost binkie and the Moo in full blown howl.
That's when we had this conversation.
C: Looking for the binkie?
D: Mmmmmm...?
C: Looking for the binkie?
D: Mmmm hmmmm.
C: It's in her mouth.
D: MMMMMMM?!!!
C: Go to bed, D.
D: Mmmmmmmmm.
C: **giggle** (quietly, of course)
Yeah...it's been a long week.

Glad to hear that he made it to the bed before passing out. :) Marc and I have had many nights like that. I feel you sleeplessness. Love ya
I remember those days with Cleeo D. It was so bad we finally just bought several and kept them in a drawer so we could just grab a new one and pop it into his mouth. Then in the morning we'd hunt out those he lost in the night.
Yeah...the sad thing is that we have at least 5 binkies somewhere in the house at this moment.
Where they all are? I have no idea. But, some days we have all of them in the binkie safe...and other days we spend massive amounts of time looking for just one.
**sigh**
